Curb recording artist Plumb recently visited the Warner Bros. offices in LA. She played a few songs from her latest album release, Blink. Radio friends from KFSH/Los Angeles (The Fish 95.9) and KSGN/Riverside had a chance to stop by and listen. Jason Dunn and Daniel Biro of Hawk Nelson made friends with Big Wave Dave from KFSH/Los Angeles (95.9 The Fish) at the Annual Fishfest festival on April 27th.  The guys headlined the “Edge Stage” that night and spent the day hanging out with fans and the station


KLFF/San Luis Obispo had its listeners “vote” on the Industry Dove Nominations—in 7 different categories.  In keeping with their Coastal location, K-LIFE presented the 7th Annual "Listeners Choice" K-Life Sandy Awards!  Pictured at GMA with KLFF MD Noonie Fugler is Artist of the Year winner Skillet.


KSBJ/Houston hosted a live outdoor event with Word-Atlantic artist, NEEDTOBREATHE.  The event was co-sponsored by Chick-Fil-A and more than 2,000 people were in attendance. NEEDTOBREATHE played songs from their current album, THE HEAT. KFSH/Los Angeles (95.9 The Fish)  held it's annual Fishfest this past weekend at The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre!  It was a hot 96 degrees in sunny LA, but all had a great time at the show.  Pictured front row (left to right):  Bob Shaw (mornings), Ryan James (overnights/a.m. show producer), and Bruce Barker (weekends). KNWS/Waterloo (Life 101.9) Morning Host Julia Taylor warned Third Day that she was going to mug Mac Powell after their recent show in Waterloo, Iowa.  They had security for Mac after the show, but Julia was relentless!  She snuck in the back and would have toppled Mac had it not been for a life-saving stop from fellow morning host Brent Manion.  Pictured Left to Right are:  Scared Stiff Mac Powell, Infatuated Julia Taylor, and morning host ( slash part-time bull fighter) Brent Manion.


A dedication ceremony was held for the all new KZTH/Piedmont, OK (88.5 FM) serving the Oklahoma City Metro area and western Oklahoma with a 35,000-watt signal broadcasting The House FM.  Almost a million people sit under this signal in the OKC metro area, which signed on Friday, April 11, and marks the third full power station for The House FM.  The House FM also broadcasts in the OKC metro from translators in downtown OKC at 99.7 FM, Norman on 98.3 FM, and 2300-watt KXTH in Shawnee at 89.1 FM.  Pictured at the El Reno tower site are:  Terry Bates, Sr. Pastor of OKC Faith Church, who gave a prayer of blessing, Doyle Brewer, President and Founder of The House Radio Network, Darcey Christianson, Chief Engineer of The House FM, and Amy Brewer.  “This is very exciting because we have had so many requests over the years for a stronger signal in Oklahoma City. Our programming offers Christ to a young generation that is looking for music that relates to them”, said Brewer.  88.5 FM was built debt-free thanks to years of contributions towards the station’s expansion fund and is the largest expansion in the ministry’s fifteen-year history.


KCVO/Camdenton, MO (Spirit FM) sponsored the Lead Me to the Cross Tour with The Caleb Rowden Band. The tour is being held in churches throughout their listening area.  KC of the Morning Show (middle) will be the guest speaker at each concert.  With one purpose in mind to lead people to the cross. 


INO artist Mark Harris was a part of the show with “Morning Friends Rob & Kristin” on His Radio Network recently. Mark co-hosted the morning show and shared a few laughs. Mark told the story his son’s first fishing trip without Mark being beside him to instruct. It was the first time his son caught a fish.  Mark received a text picture on his phone with a picture of the fish on it with the caption “I don’t just fish….I CATCH fish”. WUGN/Midland, MI (997 Family Life Radio) hosted a benefit concert featuring Curb artist Selah for New Hope Youth and Family Services. Pictured is WUGN PD Peter Brooks with Selah. With the help of over 50 volunteers the station did an extreme make-over of their "Girls" home at its first ‘Servant Saturday’ that morning.

WIBI/Springfield staff with former American Idol contestant and Brash Music artist Chris Sligh dropped in. He spent some time talking about his new single "Empty Me" (coming out in May), and helping the station with spring sharathon which was a huge success!

Brash Records recording artist Chris Sligh spent an afternoon with Family Life Network announcer and Music Director Cecil Van Houten.  Sligh shared stories from his life and American Idol experience and performed several songs live (along with percussionist Jon Skaggs).

As part of their Drive-Thru Difference Campaign, 98.5 KTIS/Minneapolis welcomed Third Day to their morning show. Mac, David, Tai, and Mark joined KTIS’ David Christian and Pam Lundell in encouraging random acts of kindness throughout the Twin Cities. In addition to being apart of the Drive-Thru Difference, Third Day debuted their brand new single, “Call My Name.” Band member Tai Anderson said, “World premiere? It’s more like a galactic premiere!”

American Idol finalist (Season 6), Chris Sligh, recently visited WPOZ/Orlando (Z88.3) for the day during his 65 city media tour.  He spent the morning with Ellis and Tyler on the Z88.3 Morning Show. After his time on the air, Sligh stayed to participate in Z88.3's weekly staff Bible Study.  While there, Sligh also performed music from his new album in the Z88.3 Ministry Center for the entire Z Crew


 

 

 

 

 

 

Matthew West visited with Matt Rust at WQME/Anderson, IN. West was in town for the Boomin Beyond Measure Tour in Indy that night.  WQME’s morning show host Matt Rust is pointing out to Matthew  “you are here”   in front of Indiana state map. Matthew hopes to return to Indiana this summer and sample some of that Indiana State Fair food.

Doug Griffin celebrated 10 years or over 10,000 hours of morning radio in Middle Tennessee on WFFH/Nashville (94 FM The FISH). Doug came from California ten years ago and brought with him a blend of wit, fun, and lots of hair. He and co-host Kim Bindel have been doing the mornings on *94 FM The FISH* since mid 2002. The nationally syndicated “Doug & Kim Family Friendly Morning Show “ currently broadcasts to over seventy affiliates.


BEC Recordings Jadon Lavik and Justin Anderson stopped by the KSBJ/Houston morning show with Mike and Susan. The visit was for a KSBJ Brown Bag concert held that night with over 800 people in attendance

Curb artist Mikeschair stopped by the studios of KHZR/St. Louis (Joy 97.7) to hang out with staff members Tim Thomson, Kim Underwood, PD Greg Cassidy, and Sean Copeland. 


Matthew West joined Total Axxess host, Wally, on the air on the air to announce the winner of the national “Something to Say” contest.  Listeners were invited to submit a poem, song lyrics, or their life story to Total Axxess and over 600 responded. 

“These stories were amazing,” commented Matthew, “people really put their hearts out there.  It was very difficult to choose a winner.”   In the end, Victoria from Holland, MI, was picked.  She wrote about her life story and how she had missed an opportunity to share her faith with a friend, who later died.  Matthew West used her story to write a new song called “The Difference.” Hear the song here.


Leading up to the release of the newest Sixsteps Records release, "Passion: God of this City” WJIS Sarasota "The JOY FM" hosted a three-city tour of An Evening with Chris Tomlin over three nights, January 31, February 1 and 2.  Friday morning Chris joined The Morning Cruise for a live broadcast from the second venue, First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, also the site of Indian Rocks Christian School.  Treated to a few surprises from the morning show, neither the artist nor hosts were prepared for the school’s national champion varsity cheerleading squad or the award-winning drum line, both of which stopped by to perform. The support for Chris Tomlin and The JOY FM was also demonstrated in other ways, including assigned staff and a personal breakfast chef. “The hospitality has been overwhelming,” remarked Tomlin.


Singer/Songwriter Jaci Velasquez came to WAWZ/New York (STAR 99.1) studios with husband Nic Gonzalez of Salvador after a self-imposed three year sabbatical. Here to promote her newest album entitled Love Out Loud, to be released in March of 2008, Jaci talked about life as a new mom and starting the long process of making another album. Matthew West launched his new album, “Something to Say” in Minneapolis. As part of the album release, Matthew appeared on the 98.5 KTIS/Minneapolis Morning Show with David Christian and Pam Lundell, and held an in-store appearance at a local Northwestern Bookstore. “Matthew is always welcome at KTIS,” said Jason Sharp, KTIS Program Director.  “After all that he’s been through in the last year, God has given Matthew a story to tell and we’re honored that he wanted to spend the day and share it with our audience.”


EMI artist Britt Nicole visited Jon and Sherry Rivers at the K-LOVE Ranch near Dallas this week. Britt appeared on the K-LOVE morning show. She got to meet the camels and everything!


Over 140,000 people attended to The Tampa Bay Festival with Luis Palau. Seeing The Joy FM’s broadcast booth near the main stage, Superbowl champion coach Tony Dungy and wife Lauren paid Morning Cruise hosts Dave Cruse, Bill Martin and Carmen Brown a surprise visit. In an on-air interview, Dungy thanked The Joy FM listeners for the “Letters to Tony” book of cards and e-mails delivered to him Saturday before the Super Bowl, saying he and Lauren had read “about one third” and intended to keep reading.  Amid crowd shouts of “We love you Tony,” Dungy said of the Tampa Bay community, “This is the first time I’ve been back since the game. The response here has been just unbelievable.”  Dungy was the honorary chairman of The Tampa Bay Festival and was given the key to the city by Tampa Bay mayor, Pam Iorio.  


Candace Cameron Bure, recently reprised her role as DJ Tanner (from the 1980s/90s TV sitcom Full House) on the WAY-FM/West Palm Beach Morning Show with Brant Hansen. Candace, who stopped by to talk about her faith, family, and life after television, made a cameo as DJ Tanner during Brant’s signature segment “Family Friendly 24 Theater”, re-enacting an episode of the previous night’s 24 without all the violence.
