Data Systems (BDS) and SoundScan and the
Christian Music Trade Association (CMTA) have
extended their agreement. The agreement calls for BDS &
SoundScan to monitor gospel retailers and radio stations to
provide retail sales census data and radio airplay. The data
is used by Billboard magazine's Top Christian Albums and Top
Gospel Albums charts as well as the sole source of data for
Billboard's Hot Christian Singles & Tracks and Hot Christian
Adult Contemporary charts. BDS monitors 46 Christian radio
stations in North America and 1,285 Christian retailers
currently report to SoundScan. Nielson Music operates both

Congratulations
to WAWZ/New York PD/Mornings Johnny Stone and Morning
Co-host Stacey Austin who announced their engagement to be
married. This past Saturday, they visited the observation
deck of the Empire State Building in Manhattan and Johnny
asked Stacey the big question. Listeners to Johnny Stone in
the Morning on Star 99.1 this morning were treated to a
replay of the proposal because Johnny had the digital
recorder on in his backpack. Though a little muffled you
could still hear Johnny chicken out the first time asking if
she wanted to go get something to eat and then Stacey squeal
with delight at the sight of the box. Johnny and Stacey will
be celebrating a fall wedding with no date chosen at this

Ross at WPOZ/Orlando gives HisAir.Net an update on Hurricane
Frances. "Hurricane Frances came to Florida and literally
wore out her welcome. The entire air staff, engineering
staff and office staff at WPOZ camped out at the studios for
3 days as Hurricane Frances showed her fury in Central
Florida. The station lost power for only 10 minutes and was
able to stay on the air the whole time thanks to a back-up
generator. Millions of people all over are still waiting to
get their power back and trying to be patient while waiting
for FEMA and their insurance adjuster. Meanwhile, WPOZ is
making sure each county of the 8 counties we serve has all
of the vital information they need, from where to find ice
and water to what schools are closed as Central Florida
recovers from another hurricane. WPOZ is at Walt Disney
World's Night of Joy at the Magic Kingdom and is helping
Second Harvest Food Bank collect non perishable food items

Music Channel will launh January 2005 with a video-on-demand
service. GMC will have three brands comprising of Concerts:
featuring one-to-two hour events; Soul: the biggest urban

company says it is also exploring the introduction of
Country, Southern Gospel and Contemporary Hits formats.

WAY-FM Media Group is announces its 50th radio
frequency, recently signing several new CHRSN affiliates,
and new translator 100.7-FM in Hopkinsville, KY. According
to COO, Dusty Rhodes, “Fifty is a great milestone! These
are exciting times at WAY-FM with new full-power stations
and translators, plus new affiliates with CHRSN (The
Christian Hit Radio Satellite Network), and we’re expecting
this growth to continue in the coming months.” Recent
stations adding CHRSN include KKEQ/Fosston, MN and
WAVL/Pittsburg. WAY-FM currently owns 11 full-power stations
and 20 translators. CHRSN airs on an additional 19

ground-breaking ceremony and celebration
for their new broadcast center. WGNR has executed a not yet

Communications Corporation reported a
2nd QT net broadcasting revenue increase of 10.1% to $47.8
million from $43.4 million for the same period last year.
Commenting on these
results, Edward G. Atsinger III, President and CEO said,
"Our second quarter 2004 net broadcasting revenue and
station operating income growth of 10.1% and 18.9%,
respectively, will, once again, significantly exceed the
performance of the overall radio industry. This strong
performance is fueled by our start-up and developing
stations. In particular, our contemporary Christian music
stations achieved an increase of 20.8% in net broadcasting
revenue and an increase of 54.3% in station operating
