KNWS/Waterloo (Life 101.9) encouraged listeners to provide for people who are homeless in Eastern Iowa during their “Share The Love” campaign. A gift of $15 given to one of 14 homeless shelters in the area provided a hot meal, a warm bed and other necessities to help the homeless through the winter months, which can be especially challenging. Life 101.9 listeners showed up in a big way, with total donations of over $16,000, providing over 1,000 nights in shelters for those who need it the most.
Ben Brustkern of Cedar Valley Friends of the Family said “The support of Life 101.9 listeners is creating opportunities for people to start their journey towards independence and a life of empowerment.”
