KGNZ/Abileen’s KGNZ at Night with Dustin Tatro took the show on the road for a special Disciple After Party broadcast following the band’s performance at Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Sweetwater, Texas. The station’s Tieline technology made possible a broadcast well outside of traditional RPU range and terrain limitations, sustaining 192k bitrate with return for audience foldback for the entire broadcast from the small community. In addition to Kevin Young’s live appearance on “At Night,” some of the most powerful testimonies ever heard on the show were shared including Cotton, a man recently released from a 21-year term in Texas prisons for murder, committed after turning to anger following the loss of his son at 4-years old. Disciple fan and JesusWired.com contributor Courtney Simpson shared her story of self-harm and how Christian Rock has been a vehicle for Christ’s work in her life, area Celebrate Recovery leader Amber related a very personal struggle with methamphetamine (an issue of epidemic proportions across the Texas Big Country), and the church’s senior pastor even got vulnerable to share his story of using and selling marijuana in high school in the community to how his now wife literally found and rescued him in the police station, to how God has led him 20 years later into a senior pastor role in the community. A nightly listener of #therockshow, 8-year old Sylus gave an entertaining live interview challenging Kevin Young to take his job (as Disciple frontman). A particularly powerful and high-energy remote broadcast followed an equally moving worship experience with motion of the Spirit plainly obvious.
KGNZ at Night airs weeknights on KGNZ from 9-midnight. The show simulcasts in HD on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook at KGNZ at Night with Dustin Tatro.
