Summary of Position:

The Operations Director position exists to influence this generation to love and follow Jesus through culturally relevant media.  This position oversees the local implementation and execution of the WAY Media Network Services satellite format to create a properly targeted, strategic and compelling radio station that is active in the community and continually looking for exposure opportunities to maximize audience size, business and donor revenue and ministry impact in the communities that station(s) serve. WayFM’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are: Spiritual Impact, Financial, Audience Growth, Staff Training and Engagement. Because experiencing growth in each of these areas is important and part of our mission, all supervisors will track how their staff’s performance impacts the growth in our KPIs on a regular basis.

Acts as an extension of the ministry of WayFM using established cultural values as a guide and displays integrity in professional and personal life in accordance with Biblical standards and moral boundaries policy of WayFM. Has a heart for service, exhibits a teachable spirit, a high level of energy, self-motivation and enthusiasm and demonstrates character as exemplified by the Fruit of the Spirit.

Knowledge and Experience Qualifications
(work experience, technical skills, degrees, certifications):


·        Audio production skills 
·        Radio and radio automation experience.  Computer experience
·        Demonstrated ability to plan and execute radio station promotions
·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (especially Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)


·        Prior successful radio programming and promotions experience
·        Working knowledge of WayFM automation systems
·        Prior on-air radio experience

·        Ability to set-up and tear down promotional tents, banners, tables, etc.  Able to occasionally lift up to 40lbs
·        Works well with others, trustworthy, honest, dependable and is passionate about the outreach of WayFM

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of WayFM. Good fit with all teams within the ministry. Upholds WayFM’s ministry in prayer. Adheres to WayFM’s Standards of Conduct / Moral Boundaries and Statement of Faith. Demonstrates behaviors aligned with WayFM’s core values.
  • Meets or exceeds expectations by exhibiting qualities consistent with the Five Core Values of the ministry.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Provide assistance with station concerts and other special events as needed with the occasional requirement to perform emcee duties in front of large crowds
·        Appearances at station events including friendly interaction with listeners
·        Maintain FCC related public files as assigned by local Manager.  This includes, but is not limited to quarterly Issues-Programs Lists, EAS logs and tower lights monitoring logs (if available)
·        Assist with execution of Support Drive on-air fundraisers as needed
·        Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
·        Other duties as assigned

Initial Compensation Range: $ 60,000  (Min)  $80,000   (Max), plus $72.50/mo. cell phone assistance (if applicable)
