Opportunity Summar
The Ministry Services division is the home to BGEA’s ministry production and distribution. This division includes Video Ministry Services – the team that produces BGEA’s video programming and materials, Audio Ministry Services – the team that produces BGEA’s podcasts, maintains the audio sermon archives and stays connected with BGEA’s radio station (Blue Ridge Broadcasting), Digital Ministry Services – the team that builds and maintains BGEA’s digital offerings, including the websites, the BGEA app, BGEA’s email platform and some of the key social media platforms, Photography – the team that is responsible for photography at BGEA events, and Search for Jesus – the team that leads our Internet Evangelism ministry.
The Programming and Content Manager must meet objectives related to the mission and goals of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) as the key contributor to and executor of the long-term strategic plans for The Billy Graham Channel (the channel). Assists Executive Director and Managing Producer in determining the target audience for the channel. With target in mind, crafts the formatic structure of the channel and cultivates its particular “personality” in production and writing of content. This includes development and direction of special programming for the channel. Direct and, as needed, writes Billy Graham Radio Specials for broadcast radio. Serves as point contact for Billy Graham Minutes features. Also contributes in the development and review of Audio Ministry Services-produced podcast content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates integrity, loyalty, and positive demeanor
- Determines the rotation of Billy Graham (BG) messages airing on the channel, and verifies real-time results from monitoring and communication with SiriusXM Producer, News/Talk
- Writes and reviews promo and imaging material for the channel. Works with Producer-Broadcast on production of said
- Writes and reviews opens and closes for messages. Determines voice-talent for opens and closes. Works with Producer, Broadcast on production of said
- Directs production of all non-message content on the channel
- Determines schedules for special programs
- Determines schedules for spots, special programming promos; rotation for imaging, etc.
- Pending briefings with Managing Producer, determines content to be featured on billygrahamchannel.com
- Coordinates marketing and promotion of the channel with stakeholders in all BGEA media platforms and with BGEA in-house agency, Willow Communications
- Maintain close communication with BGEA Media/PR and BGEA Digital Ministry Services to utilize social media on behalf of the channel, and to create content to be placed on billygrahamchannel.com
- Maintains close communication with the Billy Graham Library and The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove for co-promotional event opportunities
- Maintains open communication with the communications, marketing and promotional point people in all BGEA ministry areas
- Communicates and collaborates regularly with SiriusXM’s Producer, News/Talk and Senior Director/Talk
- Directs and coaches freelance producers and voice-talent on assignments for channels
- Directs production of up to five Billy Graham Radio Specials yearly for broadcast radio
- Strategic lead for Billy Graham Minutes productions, serving in collaboration with in-house agency as AMS point person for partner station contact
- Adheres to budget and project costs, as set by Managing Producer
- Maintains awareness and interest in current events and popular culture to determine if and how the channel responds to events and culture in relevant terms from a Christian perspective
- Assists with the strategic and tactical development of any additional opportunities with SiriusXM channels and directs production for said
- In collaboration with AMS team, suggests concepts and assists in processes required to develop new content
- Reviewer of podcast content, as requested
- In collaboration with AMS team, offers guidance on content marketing and distribution
- Assists with responding to posts on Billy Graham Radio Facebook page, as assigned
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists Managing Producer, as needed
- Conducts special project analyses and prepares reports as directed by Managing Producer
- Assists in the writing of the Billy Graham Minutes
- Represents AMS in presentations to BGEA staff, as assigned
- Collaborate with Blue Ridge Broadcasting staff, as assigned, on special needs and projects
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to Managing Producer
- Auditions, selects and coaches freelance talent
- Collaborates closely with Producer, Broadcast
- Has no supervisory responsibilities
Job Specifications
Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor-level or Associates Degree preferred. Five years’ experience as radio program producer, assistant program director, or program director. News/Talk or Christian Teaching formats preferred
- Demonstrative experience hosting/voicing copy for productions is required
- Talk or music programming announcer/host experience is preferred
- Experience producing and writing for radio programs and spot-length features is preferred
- Exceptional writing skills for program hosts, promotions, imagining, web content and social media posts
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills
- Proficient with digital editing software and familiar with production studio equipment and software
- Ability to contribute and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to implement BGEA guidelines for all productions regardless of own opinions
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to create efficient systems relative to areas of responsibility
- Ability to solve problems and reach workable solution with limited time and input
- Excellent time and resource management skills with comfort in meeting deadlines

Working Conditions
- Work is typically performed in a conventional office/production studio environment
- Occasional travel required
- Flexible working hours may be required occasionally as production needs warrant
- Some remote work may be required at the Billy Graham Library and the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove (Asheville, NC)
