BGEA Programming and Social Media Producer

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is looking for a full time Programming and Social Media Producer. This position will require the employee to sit in Charlotte NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Him
  • Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
  • Consistently participates in daily BGEA staff devotions
  • Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
  • Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence
  • Directs content creation and execution for SiriusXM channel
  • Responsible for idea generation and production of peripheral and imaging content for SiriusXM channel
  • Writes and produces assigned content for SiriusXM channel
  • Suggests and executes ideas for Billy Graham Radio (BGR) social media content
  • Writes and produces assigned and approved original content for BGR social media
  • Directs creation of or creates simple videos and still photo posts to accompany BGR content as assigned
  • Stays well versed on the most up-to-date best practices for growing and engaging social media audience and applies them to BGR outreach
  • Selects and shares content from other BGEA ministry areas on BGR social media platforms
  • Suggests guests and topics for podcasts and other AMS content
  • Researches, screens and confirms guests for interviews
  • Implements the vision and voice of assigned projects
  • Writes and produces features, awareness/support announcements, and programs, as assigned, meeting each production’s deadlines
  • Assigns projects to freelance producers as needed and approved
  • Coaches freelance producers on assigned productions
  • Monitors ongoing progress of assigned projects
  • Uploads audio to various platforms
  • Conducts interviews and identifies/pulls sound bites
  • Engineers interviews and voice-over sessions as needed
  • Coordinates resource allocation (e.g. internal work, freelance work, studio resources)
  • Produces live programs as needed
  • Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings
  • Participates in review of AMS content

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Assists Producer, Senior Producer and Executive Director of Audio Media
  • Voice-over availability

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Senior Producer
  • Has no supervisory responsibilities

Job Specifications

Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding of BGEA’s mission and priorities
  • Understanding of BGEA history, purpose, personality and supporters
  • Ability to implement BGEA guidelines for all assignments regardless of own opinions
  • Commitment to excellence and BGEA’s Mission Statement
  • Some college or technical school training is preferred
  • Five (5) years radio station or network production experience
  • Three (3) years social media experience
  • Ability to coordinate assignments, staff, and freelance producers
  • Ability to convey complex ideas in simple, direct language
  • Skilled in writing and producing for a variety of voice styles and target listeners
  • Ability to work under considerable pressure and to meet strict deadlines
  • Good study of popular culture
  • Good interpersonal communications skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of production studio equipment and software
  • Good networking abilities with other program directors, producers and talent
  • Ability to organize time and resources
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness essential
  • Desire and ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Personal qualities of integrity, loyalty, and positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Working Conditions

  • Work is typically performed in a conventional office/production studio environment
  • Occasional overnight travel required
  • Interaction with staff of Blue Ridge Broadcasting, Video Media Services, Digital Media Services, Media PR and satellite radio vendors
  • Flexible working hours may be required as production needs warrant
  • Some remote work may be required
