Jim Epperlein Has Passed

HisAir is very sad to report Jim Epperlein has passed away. Jim was 67.

Most recently Jim served as Spotify’s ReZurrection Radio President & CEO. Previously he was Prazor’s VP of Music Programming,

Jim had more than four decades of experience in all facets of radio broadcasting including on-air, programming and management.  He was the original PD/MD of XM 32 The Message at XM Satellite Radio, Jim took the channel from inception in 2001 to becoming the most listened to Contemporary Christian music station in America in 2008. Jim’s gift of music programming instincts helped him skillfully resonate with the music tastes of the Christian music audience.

ReZurrection Radio Program Director Ron Diaz told HisAir, “Though we are deeply saddened at the passing of our founder and President Jim Epperlein, we rejoice that he is free of pain. He fought courageously and he knew he was in God’s hands in life or death. We will continue with the work he started here at ReZurrection Radio and let the music he loved so much be a lasting monument to a man who loved Jesus and people with his whole heart.”

Here’s the 2017 HisAir interview with Jim Epperlein.

Please remember the Epperlein Family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Dear Family and Friends of Jim Epperlein, so dear to us all, kind, gentle, thoughtful, a true presence of Jesus Christ among us! He personified gracious praise each moment together. He brought “the Sounds of Heaven” to us. We surely know he, of all people, is truly now raised to the eternal blessing of the Sounds of Heaven. His smile, tenderness, and light, like that of our Lord Jesus, will always be with us until we all are called unto glory. Every consolation, blessing, peace and prayer for a man we have so dearly loved! most truly, George Bonzagni

There ’round the throne His glory known

Praise day and night, night and day
To the giver of mercy and grace
I will lift my heart and sing
    With the sounds of Heaven
    Praises to the only King
    The sounds of Heaven
In my weakness I get strong
‘Cause there is power in their song
I will lift my heart and sing
    With the sounds of Heaven
    Now while I am here
There’ll be tears and times when I feel alone
But I will someday see His face
And know Him as I am known
No crying no pain no more
    Forever with Jesus my Lord
I will lift my heart and sing
    With the sounds of Heaven
    Praises to the only King
    The sounds of Heaven
In my weakness I get strong
‘Cause there is power in their song
    I will lift my…
