Honoring and serving single moms in central and eastern Pennsylvania was the focus for the second annual Single Mom Saturday event on April 30, 2016, hosted by WBYO/Sellersville (Word FM Radio Network) in partnership with six auto service centers. Nearly 125 women registered their cars to receive a free oil change and multi-point inspection. For one mom and daughter who drove in with an unsafe car, it was a total car replacement. Generous listeners and service center owners made possible the repairs and the purchase of the used car. Word FM General Manager Dave Baker said, “Moms have a lot going on every day with raising the kids, keeping everyone fed and clothed, and working – both inside and outside the home; many women are doing it all on their own. We wanted to take care of one worry item for her and we’re grateful for the partnerships within the communities we serve.”
