While walking in Nashville during GMA week, I spotted one of the
most popular contestants to ever be on the TV show SURVIVOR
(twice), Rupert Boneham. I talked to him for a while and found
that he really was genuine and nice, exactly like he was on the
show.
I am sure that I met a lot of
artists in Nashville that week that are very well off
financially, but Rupert is the only person I know that has ever
been given a check for 1 million dollars just for being
popular. He won the fan-favorite million dollar award in the
Survivor All-stars a few years ago! With it, he started
RUPERT'S KIDS (www.rupertskids.org)
helping underprivileged inner city youth.

It is always
incredible to catch up with old friends, and make new ones.
This GMA was no
exception. However, if I had to pick out a "highlighted moment,
I would say that....My GMA highlight was heading to the Rutledge
to play guitar on stage with Decemberadio and the Radio
All-Stars, Monday. The Blacksburg guys were amazing! Then, we
wanted to catch them again on Tuesday at BB King's, and as we
were there, I was asked to play guitar with them again! That was
a huge surprise, and two memories that will stay with me
forever!

GMA is such
a help! Personally, I came back with a determination to be
better on the air. It’s a little intimidating going back into
the studio for the first time after GMA. The Tommy Kramer
session about being great in any daypart was excellent. What a
privilege to be able to glean from his knowledge base! I missed
a lot of good sessions this time. Thanks to the people who make
the CDs of the sessions available. And thanks to the people who
organize GMA for us broadcasters. It’s right on target.

GMA was an awesome experience! My first year going through the
radio track convinced me that radio has more fun! It was both
informative and uplifting! Being a fan of Christian music, all
the showcases are always a highlight. Plus the new friends,
amazing speakers and God-honoring worship make it the must
attend event of the year!

My highlights of GMA were meeting
Melody Green and connecting with some of the newer artists like
Fancesca Battistelli and NeedtoBreathe. I grew up on Keith
Green’s music blaring throughout the house. My father was saved
in large part to Keith’s music so to have the opportunity to
meet Melody was really special for me.

One of my biggest highlights is always getting to hang out with
my contemporaries. Radio people are unique, and there really is
fellowship among us. And since I NEVER win anything

it was nice to pick up an electric guitar in a drawing at the
