Extra Mile Media, the parent ministry of Christian media outlets KHPE/Albany, OR (Hope 107.9 FM) and KWIL/Albany (AM 790) announce the appointment of industry veteran Scott Michaels (at left) as the new President and General Manager of the organization. Michaels has over twenty-years experience in media including fundraising, content creation and ministry management. He most recently worked with i58:10 Media as Director of Radio Station Fundraising and assisted with the launch of the Worship 24/7 Radio Network.
Michaels will officially start his duties on June 1.
“Having an opportunity to serve in a ministry like Hope 107.9 and KWIL-AM is an honor,” said Michaels. “They have a legacy of serving their community with passion for Jesus, and doing it well. Plus, Oregon is home for me, so this is truly a dream job!”
Prior to joining i58:10 Media Michaels Christian Radio experience included KKJM/St Cloud, KSGN/Riverside, KCMS/Seattle, & KWPZ/Seattle.
Current Extra Mile Media President and General Manager Randy Davison (at left), who has been with the ministry for twenty-years, will remain on the team as Executive Director of Friends of Hope, the non-profit that ows and supports Extra Mile Media.
Davison commented, “We are thrilled to have someone with the experience, knowledge, and passion that Scott brings. We look forward to a bright future as we continue to celebrate our sixty-four year legacy.”
Both Davison and Michaels will work side-by-side to accomplish the ministry vision of “bringing hope to life” to listeners in Eugene and the Willamette Valley through media and future initiatives. Each will be reporting to their organization’s respective Board of Directors.
